This blog is about to get better

At least it’s about to get more frequent. I’ve been blogging for a long time. My first entry in this blog was on October 10, 2003. Yes, more than 22 years ago. It was (I must say) a rather moving piece about the earlier adoption of my daughter, who is now all grown up and with kids of her own.

But I haven’t been blogging much recently. The last entry before this one was on March 12, 2025, one of my favorite passages from my novel The Last Lord of Eden.

I’ve blogged about a lot of things. There are many posts about Block Island, Rhode Island, where my husband and I used to have a home–a beautiful house that we sold after moving from New England to California and that was, sadly, subsequently destroyed by lightning. I blogged extensively about our travel. Given that we were working full time, there are a surprising number of international trips between 2003 and 2014–16 of them, including Myanmar, Morocco, Peru, and many others. I wrote about philosophizing, about writing, about architecture, about my family, about so many things…

And that’s what I aim to do now: to blog about many things, and much more frequently than I have been. I may even catch up on all our more recent travel, complete with lots of photographs. I hope you will enjoy all of it!
